About Us

Stretch the fabric of your imagination.

Today, your ability to solve old problems in new ways and break from the limitations os traditional building materials has never been greater. Fabric, with a stunning range of capabilities, is opening new vistas to explore. From backyards to city skylines, the only limit is your imagination. Let us help you stretch it.

Mark Welander Mfc

Founder, Mark Welander began Fabricon in 1996 after leaving Blue Star Canvas Products he began in1976 as Blue Star Tipis in Missoula, Montana. Mark’s interest in fabric’s use as shelter began in the early 1970’s while living in a tipi and attending the University of Montana. This began his career of making various style tribal tipis, some of which have been displayed in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.; the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming; the Museum of Man in Toronto, and the Little World Museum of Man in Japan.

As new fabric technologies emerge in the construction industry, we continue to focus on deployable and permanent fabric structures.
